We have been working with the organisation Treedom for serveral yers to plant trees in Kenya, Tanzania, Camerun, Nepal, and Guatemala. Thus far, we have already planted over 20’000 trees, which are cared for and utilized by local, small-scale farmers. In this way, GEZE is ensuring food security in economically weak regions, is creating jobs, is promoting local infrastructure and – last but not least, GEZE is marketing a valuable contribution to global CO2 reduction

The GEZE company forest is planted by 588 smallholders, and managed for the long term. This results in a total of 1,830,000 kilograms of CO2 being bound. The trees benefit not only the climate, but also the local community. A mix of species ensures greater food security, especially in economically weak regions. Mango trees, for example, not only provide food for the farmers’ families, they can also be traded. This creates new jobs for the long-term, and supports the local infrastructure. Through the company forest, GEZE is actively supporting local communities and the climate.

GEZE contributes to supplementing the income of the participating smallholders and their families by planting fruit trees.
Be a part of the project – GEZE is giving you a tree from the company forest. Following your successful registration, GEZE will send you a code, and you can then choose from various species which tree is planted for you. In the next step, you can redeem your code. Treedom will also provide information on its website about the importance of the trees, their contribution to the environment and society, and send you a regular update on the history of your personal tree.
Sustainability as an integral aspect of the corporate culture
Action for the long-term has always been an integral aspect of GEZE’s corporate culture. In terms of sustainable environmental management in accordance with ISO 14001, the company has set itself the goal of continuously improving its products and manufacturing facilities. For example, the CO2 from the use of primary energy sources is already fully offset. In addition to using 100 per cent renewable energy, natural gas supplies are offset by hydroelectric power plants, with VER certificates according to the Verified Carbon Standard. The company is also committed to long-term, sustainable and social activities, for example through fundraising campaigns for the ‘Olgäle Foundation for the Sick Child’ (Olgäle-Stiftung für das kranke Kind), and the children’s charity ‘Plan International’.
